mainstream media blitz!
Appearances in Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, Forbes and more get the California-based manufacturer valuable exposure in the public eye.
Doc Johnson is on a red-hot streak of mainstream press that has included a full-length story in the New York Post, an exclusive two-page spread in Women’s Health Magazine, an appearance on the Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” a video profile on the front page of BuzzFeed entitled “How Sex Toys Are Made,” a lengthy interview in Forbes and now, having one of its toys named “Best Couples Toy” in a recent issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine.
In the “Ray Donovan” episode (season 4, ep 2; “Marisol”), characters Bunchy (Dash Mihok) and his wife Teresa (Alyssa Diaz) are in the midst of a dilemma: her libido is sky-high and Bunchy is having a hard time keeping up. Abby (Paula Malcomson) suggests that he get her a sex toy-- she takes Bunchy to pick one out, and they pore over a wall of Doc Johnson products.
“Ray Donovan is such a fantastic show; it’s truly an honor to be featured so prominently in their latest episode,” says Chad Braverman, Doc Johnson’s COO/CCO. “When the series approached us last year for product, we were incredibly flattered. We’ve had great success over the past few years in earning top placements on network and cable programming, as well as in mainstream movies, and we are thrilled at the exposure this most recent appearance will bring for Doc Johnson.”
More recently, Doc Johnson’s OptiMALE Rechargeable Vibrating C-Ring was named “Best Couples Toy” in Cosmopolitan Magazine. This represents Doc Johnson’s second product win in Cosmopolitan this year, with its Tryst massager being named ‘Sex Toy of the Month’ in the magazine’s June issue.
“We’re very pleased that our OptiMALE Rechargeable Vibrating C-Ring was named ‘Best Couples Toy’ in Cosmopolitan,” says Doc Johnson’s Director of Product Development Cheryl Hanslip. “Unlike traditional vibrating c-rings designed with the vibrator in a sideways position, the OptiMALE Rechargeable Vibrating C-Ring was conceived with an innovative motor placement that allows for uninterrupted clitoral contact throughout penetration.”
In addition to the magazine’s announcement of the OptiMALE™ Rechargeable Vibrating C-Ring as their ‘Best Couples Toy,’ Cosmopolitan also describes the c-ring/clitoral-vibe combo as the ultimate toy to use “while you’re sexin’, promising a huge finish for you both.”
The article about Doc Johnson takes Women’s Health senior editor Faye Brennan on a tour “inside the country’s biggest sex toy factory (the Willy Wonka of big willies!)”, where she describes the Doc Johnson campus as a “215,000-square-foot behemoth of an operation where, every day, 15,000 toys roll down the production line, ready to supply millions of orgasms.”
“It’s exciting to receive coverage from a publication as visible and influential as Women’s Health,” says Chad Braverman. “It’s a constant goal of ours to introduce our brand to the mainstream masses, and gaining this level of media exposure, in a publication that attracts millions of readers, is a home run for us.”
