Starting 8 a.m. on Friday, May 31, the Eldorado Facebook page will begin a Masturbation Month Extravaganza, sharing a new contest post every half hour for 12 hours. Every contest in Eldorado’s Masturbation Month Extravaganza is open to the public. Participants are welcome to enter as many contests as they like, but they may only enter each contest once. Every contest has its own rules; winners will be limited to two prizes throughout the total celebration. All Masturbation Month Extravaganza contests close on Sunday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. All winners will be announced by noon on Monday, June 3.
Masturbation Month is a month devoted entirely to the celebration of self-love. The very first National Masturbation Day was observed May 7, 1995. Sex-positive retailer Good Vibrations declared the day in honor of Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, who was fired in 1984 by President Bill Clinton for suggesting during an AIDS forum that masturbation should be included in the secondary education curriculum. Elder’s comments were quite scandalous at the time considering the enduring taboo of masturbation.
