Sexual wellness technology company Lora DiCarlo has been granted US Patent number 10,993,873 for the air pressure field stimulation device used in its award winning products, Baci and Osé.

The company’s flagship device, Osé, combines a G-spot massager and clitoral mouth to stimulate internal and external pleasure points simultaneously. Baci is a handheld clitoral stimulator that aims to re-create the sensation of stroking and sucking through microrobotic technology.

Lora DiCarlo has a six-person, cross-functional engineering team composed of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers, as well as an industrial designer. The company’s intellectual property portfolio includes applications for 21 utility patents in the USA, Europe, and China; four of which have been granted to-date. Patents-pending include biomimicry, pressure-wave generation, micro-robotics, mechatronic controls, electro-magnetic propulsion, and multi-compliance materials.

“It is only relatively recently that the sex tech industry has become more active in obtaining patent protection for new inventions, and Lora DiCarlo sets an example in making the practice a priority,” said Maxine Lynn Barasch, sex tech intellectual property attorney. “I am pleased to be the lead attorney who assisted Lora DiCarlo’s parent company in obtaining a patent on air pressure field stimulation device technology used in their award-winning products, Osé and Baci.”

Lora DiCarlo’s proprietary air pressure stimulation technology originated from a research partnership with Oregon State University (OSU) College of Engineering, which began in 2017. Lead investigator Dr. John Parmigiani, Research Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at OSU and Director of the OSU Prototype Development Lab and the power of OSU’s Tier 1 Research University that ranks as the #4 graduate robotics program in the USA played a key role in helping Lora DiCarlo’s team develop their proprietary technologies.

Lora H. DiCarlo, company founder, CEO and lead inventor on the patent noted, “Creating new technology inventions takes patience, persistence, and teamwork. I can only thank the professors and students at Oregon State University, our talented engineering team, and industry-leading sex tech intellectual property attorney, Maxine Lynn Barasch, for the hard work and brilliant ideas that resulted in the gold standard for new inventions—a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office.”

Global Wholesale Director Michelle Harris also expressed excitement for the company’s milestone.

“Being granted our pressure field stimulation device patent emphasizes the unique inventions used in Lora DiCarlo’s two top-selling sex tech devices, Osé 2 and Baci,” says Harris. “This latest patent demonstrates our work to differentiate ourselves within the sexual wellness market, as well as our sophisticated engineering capabilities. We hope to achieve more worldwide growth in the near future as a result of these efforts.”
