Vibratex, the sole North American importer of the Magic Wand brand, is pleased to announce that its “Pleasure as Art” commissioned piece has landed at the first stop on a whirlwind tour – the As You Like It retail store in Eugene, OR.

When you ship more than half a million wands each year, a handful of unusable units are inevitable. And though these wands won’t have their chance to deliver physical pleasure, they can certainly still make people happy. So, instead of condemning these wands to landfill, Magic Wand decided to facilitate art.

Vibratex commissioned a sculpture by Miami-based artist Dafne Blade. The resulting piece – which Mashable recently referred to as “not only stunning, but evocative of ‘Game of Thrones’” – will be on display in As You Like It’s Eugene location through early July, 2022.

As You Like It is a “different kind of pleasure shop – one for everybody and every body!” The queer woman-owned, body-positive, eco-conscious, inclusive, and affirming adult shop’s proprietor Kim Marks is excited to be hosting the Pleasure As Art piece. In fact, As You Like It’s business ethos resonates strongly with the wider Pleasure As Art initiative.

As a Green America Certified Business with a foundation in eco-conscious practices, as well as early supporters of the EcoSexual movement, Marks states that, “We love to see creative and artistic ways to recycle and reuse old toys into something beautiful, which is why this sculpture resonated so strongly with us.”

“The sculpture looks beautiful in our space, and we are so excited to have it!” Marks says. “We are honored to be the first shop to host this sculpture in person! Thank you to Magic Wand and Dafne Blade for the opportunity!”

As you like it will be hosting an event in conjunction with the art piece on June 25, 2022. Details are forthcoming. Further, everyone who takes a photo with the sculpture and posts it to Instagram while tagging @asyoulikeit.shop, @truemagicwand, and @dafneblade will receive ten percent off any one item at As You Like It.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the sculpture’s debut happen with As You Like It,” Vibratex CEO Ken Herskovitz says. “Kim’s commitment to eco-conscious practices – and love for the Magic Wand! – made her store a wonderful fit for the piece.”

After its residency at As You Like It, the Pleasure As Art piece will make its way to Burbank, CA for the ANME tradeshow.
