The World Association for Sexual Health reminds us each September that sexual health is vital for our overall well-being. This year, the theme for this month is “Let’s Talk Pleasure”—recognizing the role of sexual pleasure in overall sexual health.
The American Sexual Health Association (ASHA) believes pleasure is a critical part of sexual health and rights, and advocates using September as an opportunity to evaluate your level of sexual health awareness and fill in any information gaps.
“September is usually when our sales see a significant rise every year and we knew the cause had to be something more than just children returning to school,” says Briana Watkins, ACS, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for M.D. Science Lab. “With a visible increase in interest in intimate well-being and the celebration of September as Sexual Health Awareness Month since 2010, it’s looking like our annual September spike in sales may be something more.”
According to ASHA, sexual health is defined as “the ability to embrace and enjoy our sexuality throughout our lives” and they are encouraging people everywhere to celebrate September by taking steps towards achieving your own sexual health. This means more consumers will be looking to “Talk Pleasure” and experiment with intimate products that cater to their sexual health needs and desires.
