ORION Wholesale improves on its vibepad with the vibepad 2, which features a warming function and a vibrating tongue.

he vibepad from ORION Wholesale was originally designed as a vibrating cushion. The concept was so well received, the product was nominated for the German Design Award 2022.

Picking up where it left off, ORION Wholesale has upped the ante on its best-selling product by rolling out the vibepad 2 — an advanced version of the original.

“The vibepad 2 is an innovative sexual wellness product that creates a completely new kind of external stimulation because of its extraordinary design,” says Björn Radcke, head of sales & marketing (B2B) at ORION Wholesale. “The specially designed waves are adapted perfectly to shape of the female anatomy around the clitoris, vulva, perineum and anus and this means that it can provide spot-on stimulation.

“The stimulation is individually controlled by moving the hips back and forth — this means the hands can be used for other things,” adds Radcke. “The intensity of the seven powerful vibration modes is easily adjusted with the included remote control. The larger wave stands out because of its integrated vibro-tongue that has seven licking modes. The smaller wave has an additional warming function that goes up to a maximum of 55° C (131° F).

All the functions can be controlled separately. The included remote has a range of 10 meters (~ 33 feet). In a nod toward safety, the vibepad 2 automatically turns itself off it has been inactive for 30 minutes.

The vibepad 2 can be enjoyed, hands-free, from any flat surface, like a chair. It’s also waterproof, allowing for erotic adventures in the bath as well.

The vibepad 2 (item number 05532630000) is delivered in a box with a large window, a high-gloss finish and a magnetic fastener. There are also flyers and displays in the shape of chairs (on which the vibepad can be placed) for retailers for optimum presentation at the point of sale.

SE Magazine spoke with Radcke about the vibepad 2 and its development.

SE: How does vibepad 2 improve on the original? What were you hearing in customer feedback that translated to vibepad 2?

Björn Radcke

RADCKE: We are always interested in optimizing our products. For this, of course, customer feedback is also very important. That is why the vibepad 2 has an additional warming function and a vibro-tongue — whereby the idea with the warming function was implemented at the special request of one of our colleagues.

We also took a close look at the packaging and decided to design it with pictograms instead of photos.

SE: Is vibepad 2 for a certain level of toy user (experienced, novice, etc.)?

RADCKE: The vibepad 2 can be used by both beginners and advanced users. Furthermore, it is perfect for anyone who wants to bring more variety into their love life — whether alone or with a partner. The advantage is, of course, the hands-free use: all you have to do is sit on it, switch it on and enjoy it — and your hands are free to do other things.

SE: The vibepad was nominated for the German Design Award 2022 — what kind of reception are you expecting for vibepad 2?

RADCKE: If we could build on the success of the first vibepad and ideally even surpass it, that would be great.

SE: What is ORION most excited about when it comes to releasing vibepad 2?

RADCKE: Launching a new product on the market is, of course, always a great moment — especially when it has been worked on with a lot of heart and soul over a long period of time. How will the product be received by retailers? Will it sell well? Are the retail customers as enthusiastic and convinced about this product as we are? The feedback from retailers and, of course, from retail customers is therefore very important to us.

SE: Your website mentions vibepad 2 features stimulating waves that are adapted perfectly to the vagina, clitoris and anus and can also be used to stimulate the testicles and perineum — how important was it to design an inclusive product with the most mass appeal?

RADCKE: The more people a product appeals to, the more likely it is that a product will sell in larger quantities. We developed the first version of the vibepad primarily for women, although we noticed during testing that it also made men feel good when they used it too. Also, people with a disability have told us that the vibepad is an enrichment for their sex life as well.

SE: Is your R&D team already bouncing around ideas for vibepad 3?

RADCKE: I don’t want to rule that out. At the moment, however, our product development team is working on other innovative products that we will be launching on the market in the next few months. You can be curious!
