Enchantasys assistant manager, Snow Anderson, reveals how she found a new direction in life by helping others find pleasure in theirs.
(NOTE: This story appears in the April 2025 issue of SE Magazine.)
After 12 years as a homemaker due to disability, Snow Anderson found a new path when she attended the opening of the Enchantasys store in Conway. Impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, she asked for a job application—and the rest is history. Now a store assistant manager, she plays a key role in helping customers explore their pleasure products with confidence and comfort.
In this interview, Anderson shares insights on customer trends, the importance of in-person shopping experiences, and what makes Enchantasys’ brick-and-mortar stores stand out in a digital world. She also reflects on the joy of empowering customers and the unexpected fulfillment she’s found in her role.
SE: Tell me about your customer demographics at the store. How many are younger, older, men, women, LGBTQ, nonbinary and couples?
Anderson: We have a very mixed demographic. We see many people of all age ranges, genders, and sexualities.
SE: Looking at trends, what are you hearing from your customers? Is it specific toys or trends, or is there a segment like bondage, pegging, or whatever that’s taking off that they’re responding to?
Anderson: It’s a little bit of a mix of all of it. We’ve had people looking for a specific item off of TikTok, and then they come in and find out that we have many more versions to choose from, so they have more options.
SE: What are your top-selling brands of strokers?
Anderson: We do sell quite a few strokers. We carry a healthy mix; the Male Rose is popular now and always an excellent choice. Zolo has some of our best sellers because they have that wonderful warranty and are easy to work with for any age range. CalExotics strokers are also nice because they have that wide price range, and they give you the option of being more anatomical or not, which is always nice because we occasionally have people who don’t want anything that’s anatomically correct.
The best part is being able to talk to people and help them feel better about themselves, whether with lingerie or toys and other things like that.

SE: Going into 2025, what are the keys to profitability with online retail eating into brick-and-mortar sales?
Anderson: When people come in to shop with us versus shopping online, it’s because of the experience, because they get to feel the kindness and warmth. Some people seem to appreciate that we’re a little more of a safety net to explore about things they want to try or buy. Online shopping is just a computer or phone screen; you don’t get that human interaction. Being able to talk to a salesperson at a store and find out which products might work better is critical. We can put products in people’s hands so they feel vibrations and different things and help determine if they are right for them. You just can’t get that online.
SE: What do you do to combat showrooming, where a customer comes in, asks you a million questions about a product, plays with the product, and then ends up buying the product online?
Anderson: I provide people with the best information that I can. They may decide to buy the product online, which is entirely okay, but we explain to them that if there is anything that happens to a product they buy from us, like manufacturing defects, they’re welcome to bring it back to us for the first 30 days versus online shopping, where sometimes you don’t know until it’s too late whether you can send those things back.
SE: What would you be doing now if you weren’t managing an adult toy store?
Anderson: I am not 100 percent sure. I’ve been on disability, so for the longest time I didn’t think that I could have a job. So when Ducky gave me the opportunity, it was highly magical.

SE: What’s the best part of your job?
Anderson: The best part is being able to talk to people and help them feel better about themselves, whether with lingerie or toys and other things like that. Helping somebody to leave here feeling positive about themselves, feeling that they can make their partner and themselves feel good, is deeply gratifying. That they can achieve a pleasure they’ve been seeking or didn’t even know they wanted to try, which is always heartwarming.
SE: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Anderson: When I started this job, I wasn’t sure my health would allow me to do it, and I saw that as a potential challenge. Since then, my health has always been excellent. The customers are friendly, and my co-workers are wonderful. This store runs smoothly, and we’re all together, so I don’t feel like I’ve got many challenges.
